The Coalition for Property Rights-FL extends condolences
to the family of President George H. W. Bush
and expresses its appreciation for his life and service.
During my fourteen years of work and residency in Moscow, Russia, I met the then Vice-President when he represented the United States at the State funerals of Soviet leaders Brezhnev, Andropov, and Chernenko. During each visit, he took time to meet with the Moscow-based American community. The photograph taken by me at “Uncle Sam’s, the embassy cafe shows him, Ambassador Arthur Hartman, and an un-named secret service officer. His presence and comments of encouragement were appreciated by all.
It was during his presidency that Mikhail Gorbachev resigned as President of the Soviet Union on Christmas Day 1991, ending the Soviet dictatorship and transforming the Soviet Union into 15 independent countries without a shot being fired.
